I learned to cook the same way that many other people learn.  I learned by helping my mother cook and eventually learning her recipes.  The problem was that she isn’t a vegan or vegetarian.  This meant that I only learned how to cook using meat and animal products.  When I went vegan, I was completely intimidated by cooking vegan foods.  I knew how to cook, sure, but how could I cook without the tools I had been taught to use?  I really didn’t have any idea how to cook without using dairy or eggs.  So, I started experimenting.  I hope that this page helps people learn ways to cook vegan meals, no matter how much experience they have in the kitchen.
